Ibrahim Saad Learning Hub (ISLH) was officially inaugurated by Y.B. Dato’ Seri Dr. Ibrahim Saad on 25th August 2005. The name of the resource centre is taken in conjunction with his name who is the founding President or CEO of UniKL at that time. As such, he attended the University of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Institute of Chemical and Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET) for the completion of the opening ceremony of Ibrahim Saad Resource Centre.
The building of ISLH is located near the main entrance of UniKL MICET campus and close to the Student Development and Campus Lifestyle (SDCL) office and Lestari Hall. With an area approximately 330 square meters of floor area, the two-storey building can accommodate about 196 users at a time.
The development of library collection in various fields of study especially in science and technology, has been intensified to support teaching and learning activities. Currently, the library has acquired about 8630 titles of printed books, periodicals, CD-ROM pertaining to subject Chemical and Bio-Engineering Technology. The library has also subscribed the sevices of 22 online databases, comprising from e-books and e-journals.
Moreover, the library automation system was initiated in 2009 using VTLS software to provide better and faster services. Currently, the library is fully integrated with KOHA open source integrated library system since January 2016 to manage its operations, automate tasks and improve staff productivity.
ISLH Operation Hours
- Circulation Counter will be closed 15 minutes earlier before library’s closing hours.
- Library is closed on Sunday, Malacca state holidays and National public holiday.
- Library service hours can be changed or extended from time to time according to the needs and study weeks
