The world is constantly changing and various challenges are faced in the food industry, health, environment and so on. Biological materials are key to meeting this challenge. Therefore, there is an ongoing need for chemical engineers with a background of biological knowledge as well as its application. Bioprocess engineering is part of chemical engineering that responsible for translating the discoveries of life science into practical products, processes, or systems that can serve the needs of society (National Research Council (US) Committee on Bioprocess engineering, 1992). Bioprocess engineers deals with the design and development of processes and equipment to manufacture pharmaceuticals, neutraceuticals, chemicals, polymers, food and agriculture products as well as in the treatment of solid waste and wastewater.

The Bioengineering Technology Division at UniKL MICET specializes in chemical engineering and bioengineering technology education. Our goal is to offer high-quality educational programs that will prepare students to work in the chemical and biological industries, as well as academics. We aim to provide a workforce in the field of chemical and bioengineering technology due to the growing needs in Malaysia. Our strength is to produce industry-ready and qualified graduates with great potential to become professionals and contribute to various fields of bioengineering. We offer programs that are taught entirely in English, as follows:
