U<\/span>niKL MICET won gold medal at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE 2020) that was held in PWTC Kuala Lumpur on 20-22 February 2020, which saw the participation of international research community. The project entitled “Phomopsidione: A novel antibiotic against Pseudomonas pneumonia” lead by Dr Tong Woei Yenn received recognition for the category Healthcare, Personal Care Technology, Biotechnology and Life Sciences. The team members are Dr Leong Chean Ring, Dr Syarifah Ab Rashid and Siti Zubaidah Abdullah.\u00a0\"Image.jpeg\"\"Image.jpeg\"\"Image.jpeg\"<\/p>\n

Projek ini adalah pada penemuan sebatian antibiotik baru, Phomopsidione yang menunjukkan aktiviti menghalang yang ketara pada beberapa bakteria negatif Gram, terutamanya Pseudomonas aeruginosa<\/i>.Sebatian ini dapat mengurangkan jumlah toksin yang dihasilkan oleh bakteria, dengan mempengaruhi sintesis protein membran luar.<\/div>\n

Pameran antarabangsa tahunan itu disertai lebih 500 peserta tahun ini.MTE 2020 menyediakan platform sehenti untuk pencipta, pereka dan usahawan mempamerkan ciptaan, idea, prototaip, produk dan reka bentuk terkini kepada pelabur, pengeluar, pengedar dan pemasar di Asia dan seterusnya, membuka jalan untuk menghubungkan mereka dengan mereka yang mencari idea baru, serta pengkomersialan dan kerjasama teknologi.<\/div>\n
